Chulada

This edition is the result of my first exposure to the world of drug trafficking in Sinaloa. The research focused on beauty as an element of power and the selfie as a tool of representation. The use of social media, primarily Instagram, by several women linked to drug traffickers, known as "buchonas," for a year was the basis for this collection of images that combines recordings, fabrications, and staging.
