Wild Hunting

A journey through the territories of Sinaloa, where organized crime holds total control. I covered carnivals and beauty pageants in small towns, and the landscape in this project takes on substantial importance, as it is the backdrop of the kings of Sinaloa, with their princesses, fauna, and flora. It was the first time I was able to photograph members of the Sinaloa Cartel. Their inclusion in these majestic landscapes gave some meaning to my work after three years of focusing on this subject. In the end, we are all part of an ecosystem—political, social, and economic—where some hunt and others are hunted.
